Who we are
vireonmedical.com (Vireon Medical) is an independent medical information website. It is operated by Seccad Yazicioglu, an individual based in Istanbul, Türkiye. Vireon Medical is not currently a registered company.
The data controller (the organisation responsible for deciding how and why your personal data is used) is Seccad Yazicioglu. You can reach us about anything in this policy at hello@vireonmedical.com.
This policy explains what personal data the website handles today, why, and what choices and rights you have. It covers this website only. Other websites we link to have their own policies.
What we collect and why
The website does not offer accounts, registration, comments, a newsletter, a contact form, bookings or the sale of any service. The only personal data handled is described below.
Server logs kept by our host
The website is hosted by Hostinger, which provides our web hosting and content delivery network (a network of servers that delivers pages quickly). When you visit a page, the host’s servers automatically record technical information such as your IP address (the numerical address of your connection), your browser’s user agent (a short description of your browser and device), the page requested and the time of the request.
- Why: to keep the website secure and working, for example to detect and block attacks or abuse.
- Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in running a secure website.
- How long: server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short period for security and troubleshooting, and are then deleted automatically under the provider’s own retention schedule.
Emails you send us
If you choose to email us at hello@vireonmedical.com, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write in the message. Please do not send health information, photos or details of your medical case: we cannot give individual medical advice and do not need this information.
- Why: to read and reply to your message, to act on corrections or complaints, and to keep a record of our correspondence.
- Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in responding to readers and keeping records.
- How long: up to two years after our last reply, unless we need to keep a message longer to deal with a legal claim.
- Email is handled by our email service provider, Hostinger (Hostinger Email).
Your cookie choice
When you choose Accept analytics or Reject analytics, we store that choice in a single first-party cookie called vireon_consent so that we do not ask you again on every page. It contains only the word granted or denied and lasts 180 days. Details are in our cookie policy.
- Lawful basis: storing the choice is necessary to respect it, and is required to meet our legal obligations on cookie consent.
Analytics (only if you accept)
We use Google Analytics 4 (a Google service that measures how a website is used), connected through Google Site Kit (a WordPress plugin made by Google). It is set up with Google Consent Mode v2 (a setting that tells Google tags what you have agreed to). Before you make a choice, and if you reject, analytics storage and all advertising-related storage are denied, so Google Analytics cookies are not set. In this state Google tags may still send limited signals without cookies (for example, that a page was loaded), which Google uses only in aggregate to model overall usage; these signals do not contain cookie identifiers.
If you choose Accept analytics, Google Analytics may set cookies and collect information such as the pages you view, how long you stay, the website that referred you, approximate location derived from your IP address, and your device and browser type. We use this only to understand which pages are useful and to improve the website.
- Lawful basis: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time through Cookie settings in the footer.
- Recipient: Google, acting as our service provider for analytics.
- How long: Google Analytics event-level data is kept for 2 months, after which only aggregated reports remain.
Site administrators
WordPress, the software that runs this website, sets login cookies only for people who sign in to manage the website. Readers cannot create accounts, so these cookies are not set for readers.
Fonts and embedded content
Our fonts are hosted on our own server, so loading a page does not send your data to a font provider. There is currently no embedded content from other websites. If we add video embeds (for example from YouTube) in future, they will load only when you click to play them, and we will update this policy first.
Health information
We do not collect health information, photos or case details through this website. If we ever add a feature that does, we will publish a separate health-data notice and ask for your explicit consent before that feature launches.
Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. Personal data is shared only with:
- Hostinger, our web host and content delivery network provider, for server logs.
- Hostinger (Hostinger Email), our email service provider, for emails you send us.
- Google, for analytics, only if you accept analytics.
- Professional advisers, courts, regulators or law enforcement, where the law requires it or where it is needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Where your data is processed
Our website is hosted by Hostinger, our hosting provider, and is delivered through its content delivery network (a set of servers in several countries that send pages to you faster). Some service providers, including Google, may process data in other countries. Where personal data is transferred outside the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, we rely on a safeguard recognised by data protection law: standard contractual clauses approved by the relevant authorities (and, for Google in the United States, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension where Google is certified), as set out in our providers’ data-processing terms.
How we protect your data
We keep the amount of personal data to a minimum, use encrypted connections (HTTPS) for the website, and limit administrative access to the website to the people who manage it. No website can guarantee complete security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we hold.
Your rights
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR), you have the following rights. Some apply only in certain circumstances.
- Access: to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: to ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Erasure: to ask us to delete your data.
- Restriction: to ask us to limit how we use your data, for example while a correction is checked.
- Objection: to object to our use of your data where we rely on legitimate interests.
- Portability: to receive data you gave us in a commonly used, machine-readable format, where the processing is based on consent or a contract and carried out by automated means.
- Withdraw consent: to withdraw consent at any time, for example by choosing Reject analytics through Cookie settings. This does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it.
- Complain: to complain to the data protection authority where you live (in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner’s Office; in Türkiye, the Personal Data Protection Authority, KVKK). We would appreciate the chance to deal with your concern first.
To use any of these rights, email hello@vireonmedical.com. We may need to ask for information to confirm your identity. We will reply within the time allowed by law, which is normally one month.
Because we do not run accounts, we usually cannot link server logs or analytics data to a named person. If you would like us to look for data about you, tell us what you can, such as the email address you wrote from.
Note for readers in Türkiye
If you are in Türkiye, the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) also applies. Under Article 11 of that law you can ask whether your personal data is processed, request information about it, learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used for that purpose, know the third parties it is shared with in Türkiye or abroad, ask for incorrect data to be corrected, ask for data to be deleted or destroyed, object to a result that goes against you arising only from automated analysis, and claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing. Send any request to hello@vireonmedical.com. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK).
Children
This website is written for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the way the website handles personal data changes, for example before analytics or any new feature goes live. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed.
Contact
Questions about this policy or your personal data can be sent to hello@vireonmedical.com. Vireon Medical is run from Istanbul, Türkiye.
